ROTHBURY HOUSE, ON STOW PARK CIRCLE, NEWPORT
We are really delighted to have secured permission from Newport City Council for the restoration and change of use of Rothbury House, on Stow Park Circle, Newport to a high-end restaurant with rooms on behalf of Pasquale and Sergio Cinotti of Gemmeli Restaurant.
The property was built c.1880 as a large detached house in the Jacobean style, designed by A.O. Watkins of Newport, a well established, reputed local Architect of the time. The Grade II listed property was last used as a care home but has since fallen into disrepair.
Working in partnership with Ian Williams of AFA ARCHITECTS AND PLANNERS LTD and Edward Holland of Holland Heritage and working closely with Newport City Council’s Planning, Heritage and Highways Officers we have successfully negotiated sensitive alterations and extensions to the property and a remodelling of the gardens despite vociferous objection from third parties.
Looking forward to seeing new life being put back into a lovely building.
Credit also to Robert Davies MBE of RDP Law and to our very own Matthew Gray of Asbri Planning for skilfully, and patiently steering the application to a successful outcome.
