GEORGE MILBURN
PLANNER
George joined Asbri Planning’s Cardiff office as a Planner in June 2023, after obtaining a year and a half’s worth of experience as a Graduate Planner in Cardiff’s private sector. George studied at the University of Birmingham for four years, where he graduated in both BSc and MSc Geography & Urban Regional Planning, before returning to his hometown of Cardiff to begin his career in planning.
George is a Chartered Member of the RTPI and has worked on a variety of projects on behalf of Asbri Planning to date – including residential, retail, commercial, sport, renewables, and leisure schemes. Notable projects he has worked on include securing planning permission for the demolition of the former Gungrog Primary School in Welshpool for the development of 16 affordable housing units, and for a 1MWp (megawatt peak) ground mounted solar farm at the former Docks Way landfill site in Newport on behalf of Newport City Council.
As a keen sportsman George can often be found playing cricket or football (5-a-side and Sunday League), or watching his beloved Cardiff City. He doesn’t mention it much, but he has completed the London Marathon twice in recent years (‘for fun’), and was the 2023/2024 Asbri Planning fantasy football league champion – tactically outsmarting rivals Dylan Green and Catherine Blyth!
